QUALIFIED INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES PROFESSIONAL (QIDP) TRAININGAnixter Center’s course meets the DHS standards of instruction and is taught by a team of experts in the field. Anyone is welcome to apply for the course, but applicants should be aware of the requirements for participants.
The Department of Human Services has mandated this 40-hour Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) training as a requirement for all QIDPs.Please contact DHS directly regarding your specific needs, and then reach out to our Anixter Learning and Development Department to register or find out more about the course itself. Here is a link to an overview of the QIDP approval process (DHS website):https://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=48245 ALL QIDP TRAINEES MUST ATTEND ALL 9 MODULES, COMPLETE ASSIGNED HOMEWORK IN A TIMELY FASHION, AND PASS THE FINAL EXAM (higher than 80%) IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE CERTIFICATION.
The fee for the complete 40 hours of instruction is $750 per person. We offer a discounted rate of $600 to any additional persons registered for the same course offering by the same agency/entity. Upon completion of the 40-hour training course and passing the exam, Anixter Center will provide participants with a certificate of completion. It is the responsibility of the home agency to complete the Core Competency Area Checklist. We are currently organizing our upcoming course schedules, but feel free to reach out with any questions!
