Waheeda Murarsheed

Vice President of Disability Services

Waheeda joined Anixter in April 2019 as Vice President of Disability Services, where she
oversees four different service lines with over 80 employees serving more than 200 clients.

After graduating from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale with a degree in Social Work in
May 2006, Waheeda began her career as a Direct Support Professional and quickly advanced to
managing various Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) homes. She then became a
Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional for Community Home Based Services before taking
on the role of Individual Service Coordinator at Community Service Options, Incorporated. At
Anixter, she has held several key positions, including Senior Manager and Director of
Residential and Day Programs.

Throughout her career, Waheeda has led several notable projects, including the development of
inclusive programs that provide tailored support and resources for individuals with intellectual
disabilities, community integration initiatives promoting social inclusion and reducing stigma, and
restructuring programs to focus on best practices in care and support.

Waheeda is a leader who finds freedom in a life of service. Her strong faith aids in her
development of self-discipline, skills, and talents. Her mission is to live a life of wholeness,
purpose, and service, with the ultimate goal of changing the lives of others.

Her leadership abilities help her establish positive relationships, foster teamwork, and set
standards for a workplace that everyone can enjoy while meeting the needs of others.
