COVID-19 Program Update – March 14
In times of uncertainty we typically look to each other for support and connection. However, with the unique circumstances of this current crisis, being together has limited options. That said, this is an opportunity to be unified in our actions and our commitment to support the well-being of all people.
Anixter Center values community interaction and engagement, but with recent events we realized the best decision to demonstrate that we value participants, staff and the community at large is to close our facility based day services where we tend to have large amounts of people in the same space. This includes Adult Community Transition, Community Resources & Supports, Community Mental Health, Recovery Hub drop in center and Outpatient Substance Use Disorder services. Each setting has systems for keeping in touch with those who may need help during this closure, including some options to provide services virtually in behavioral health programming.
These changes are precautionary and not due to any known exposure to COVID-19 in any of our locations. While we are closed, we will take the time to further deep clean settings.
Per the Governor’s directive, all employees who can work from home are doing so. The work continues, just in a different setting and manner as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we together navigate these uncertain times. Take care of yourselves and each other.
