Literacy Volunteer

Dr. Joseph Levy, M.D. is a physician, dedicated literacy advocate, and longtime community volunteer. With a career in medicine and a deep commitment to service, he is a Professor at the Chicago Medical School, where he continues to contribute to the education and development of future healthcare professionals. 

For more than 30 years, Dr. Levy has volunteered in literacy programs, helping individuals build confidence and opportunities through reading and education. His commitment to our mission reflects his belief that literacy is a foundation for personal growth and stronger communities. 

Beyond his literacy work, Dr. Levy has served as an animal shelter volunteer.  

Dr. Levy’s combination of medical expertise, teaching experience, and decades of volunteer service strengthens our board and advances our mission to empower lives through literacy.
