Make a Difference: Volunteer at Anixter Center

Anixter Center is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the Chicago area serving People with Disabilities, People With Behavioral Health Need, People who are Deaf/DeafBlind/Hard of Hearing. Each year, we serve more than 8,000 people through our programs throughout the Chicago area. Without the dedication, enthusiasm and compassion of our volunteers, Anixter Center simply could not help as many people. Our volunteers represent all ages and come from all cultures and backgrounds. Some volunteer for a specific project; others give several hours a week or a month. No matter what they do or how much time they donate, all help to support people to live their best life.

Making a Real Difference

There are many ways to make a difference in the lives of the people Anixter serves.
Some Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Tutor
  • Lead mock interviews
  • Help with special events
  • Paint/complete beautification projects

  • Clean and organize program spaces
  • Serve as direct support to people

CORPORATE and GROUP VOLUNTEERS LEND MANY HANDS

Anxiter Center is proud to have corporate partners committed to helping people with disabilities and related challenges. From painting to fund-raising and lots of projects in between, each of our partners adds very valuable energy, leadership and expertise. Thanks to them we have been able to accomplish so much. Our volunteer needs range from a few hours to full days. We work hard to accommodate the needs of large groups and will try to work with your organization and employees to tailor a truly meaningful experience. We kindly request a $500 minimum donation to Anixter Center on behalf of your organization to help offset staff time spend with your group. Please fill out the volunteer form and include potential dates, times and numbers of voluneers.
