John H. Kemnitz is an Audit Partner at KPMG LLP and currently serves as the National Partner-in-Charge of the Department of Professional Practice. In this leadership role, he oversees a team of more than 400 professionals and thought leaders who help shape the firm’s audit and accounting practices nationwide. With more than 30 years of experience, John has served a diverse range of clients, from mid-market domestic companies to global multinational organizations across the consumer, industrial, transportation, technology, and services sectors. 

A longtime resident and professional in the Chicago area, John was drawn to the organization by its clear mission and tangible impact on individuals and families throughout the Chicagoland community. He values the opportunity to contribute his leadership experience and support efforts that create meaningful change for those in need. 

John is also actively involved with Northern Illinois University’s College of Business and Athletic Scholarship Fund. He has served as a guest classroom presenter and participates in student recruiting, mentoring, and career development initiatives, helping to prepare the next generation of business leader
