Steve Parker

Steve brings more than two decades of experience in executive leadership, strategic
planning, operations, and risk management. A career Army officer, he served in combat,
advisory, and leadership roles across four continents, including as a combat
commander in Iraq, a United Nations Military Observer, and Defense Advisor to U.S.
Embassies in Africa.
He also served in both the Bush and Obama Administrations, including on the White
House Domestic Policy Council. After leaving the military, Steve helped launch a
software-as-a-service company and later served as Managing Director of a Washington,
D.C.-based CEO advisory and public relations firm.
A West Point and Yale graduate and former White House Fellow, Steve serves on the
boards of national nonprofits supporting veterans, military spouses, and young people
who choose to serve.
He is inspired by Anixter Center’s long history of adapting to meet the evolving needs of
vulnerable members of the community.
An avid traveler and self-described Africanist, Steve has lived and worked extensively
throughout sub-Saharan Africa and enjoys live music, mountain biking, and African art.
