Amy Bowers is an experienced licensed clinical social worker with expertise in the areas of mental health, substance use recovery and disabilities. She graduated from the University of Illinois Jane Addams School of Social Work with a master’s degree and a concentration in mental health. Ms. Bowers started her career by supervising a residential setting for 40 adults with mental illness while substantially increasing organizational revenue. Problem solving and flexibility were enhanced while performing duties as a crisis worker in the emergency department at Illinois Masonic (a Level 1 trauma center). She joined Anixter Center in 1999 to improve mental health service quality, agency compliance, and create policy. With values rooted in dedication to the underserved, strong communication skills, tenacity and building internal expertise, her current role naturally includes oversight of training, mental health programs, substance use disorder programs and a myriad of compliance duties.

Ms. Bowers credentials include certification as Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), an Ethics Scholar via the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and a graduate of the National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities at the University of Delaware.
