Substance Abuse Prevention Program

Substance Abuse Prevention Program

Anixter Center, with support from the Illinois Department of Human Services, provides a Substance Abuse Prevention Program to youth in the Rogers Park and West Ridge communities.

Mentoring Program

A mentor/mentee relationship can support and empower youth to achieve their full potential and enrich their quality of life.

Social/emotional well-being, academic performance, decision making, identity development, and promotion of positive attitudes and behaviors are different areas in which a mentor can help a mentee succeed!

Communication Campaign

Via marketing and advertising, this promotional strategy improves knowledge, attitudes, or behaviors surrounding substance abuse amongst youth.

Based on data from the Illinois Youth Survey, we create a substance abuse prevention message that is disseminated through posters, promotional items or any other way that is popular with our audience!

Prevention Coalition

In an alliance with other community members, Anixter Center is also the lead agency for YSAP, the Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Rogers Park and West Ridge. Visit to learn more!
